EDMONTON, AB (February 4, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder start their jam-packed weekend by welcoming the Augustana Vikings Friday night. After a night of back-and-forth play, the Vikings outscored in the second quarter and kept the lead to take the game 83-71.
The Thunder started the night strong, taking points back and forth between the two. With a strong push, Thunder took the first quarter 17-16. The Thunder tried to keep the momentum but the Augustana Vikings outscored in the second quarter 27-12 and ultimately took the half 43-29. After a quick and high intensity third quarter the Thunder worked hard to get points on the board but the Vikings kept their lead and took the quarter 64-49. The Thunder fought hard in the fourth quarter, and chipper away at Vikings lead, but couldn't close the gap completely as the Augustana Vikings took the win 83-71.
The One Team Sports Players of the game were #21 Nathan Bowie for the Augustana Vikings and #2 Nick Gibb for the Concordia Thunder.
The Thunder continue their season by taking the fight back to Augustana tomorrow evening. They continued the jam-packed weekend by playing the Keyano Huskies on Sunday, February 6th at home.
