MBB | Kodiaks defeat Trojans in first showdown of 2022

The Kodiaks look to start the new year with a victory over the visiting SAIT Trojans

The Kodiaks came out the gate hot ramping up the score of the game quickly as Kodiaks #2 Orin Porter Jr. collected 12 points in the first quarter leading the charge for the kodiaks scoring almost half the Kodiaks points as the finished the quarter leading the Trojans 26-16.

The Kodiaks managed to maintain their lead heading into halftime against the Trojans, however the Trojans outscored the Kodiaks 15 to 11 in the quarter due to Trojans Marcus Masters and Talk Ross combining for 10 points but it wasn't enough to get in front of the Kodiaks trailing 31-37 heading into halftime

Both the Kodiaks and Trojans came into the second half ready to go and were hot, the 3rd quarter was a physical as well as high scoring, Trojans Matur Maluach and Kodiaks Chris Schlauwitz were the players to watch during the quarter as Maluach collected 8 points and Kodiaks Schlauwitz picked up 9 points of his own to help keep the Kodiaks on top heading into the final quarter with a 61-52 lead. 

The Kodiaks once again were dominant in the quarter keeping their distance from the Trojans on the scoreboard with their impressive display of their scoring and defensive capability. The Kodiaks stuck to their game plan and it worked, the Kodiaks held off the Trojans as they defeat them 83-65
