MBB| Nov 20 Kodiaks get back-to-back wins against MHC Rattlers

November 20th, 2021- Kodiaks came back home ready for a back-to-back win this weekend against the Medicine Hat College Rattlers. The first quarter was kept very tight as the Kodiaks and Rattlers battled back and forth for points. Rattlers #11 Kieron Burgess was a standout star in the first, getting the Rattlers a total of 7 points, leading scoring in the game at the quarter. The Rattlers finished the quarter ahead of the Kodiaks with a score of 15-16.

The Kodiaks went into the second quarter ready to pull ahead and close the Rattler's opportunity to keep the lead. #15 Dawson Atwood was an impact player off the bench in the second quarter, getting a total of 6 points, 2 steals, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. The Kodiaks pulled ahead in the second thanks to a strong performance from their deep and talented bench to finish the quarter at 40-31.

The Kodiaks managed to hold their lead despite a hard effort in the third quarter from the Rattlers with Kodiaks #11 Tomo Owens grabbing 6 points of his own in the third, hitting his stride, and digging deep in the post. Rattlers #3 Peter Adonri snagged 2 steals to assist in his own 6 points during the quarter, digging hard to finish it off with a smooth 18 points scored for the Rattlers in the third as opposed to the Kodiaks at 16. Kodiaks finish the quarter at a score of 56-49.

Kodiaks kept the gap in points all throughout the fourth quarter, showing off some impressive passing skills to get it in deep for some easy buckets. #9 Jack-Henry Fox-Gray threaded through the defense to get 8 points for himself and 3 rebounds. Once again, Rattlers #11 Kieron Burgess was MHC's top scorer with 7 points, getting in deep and drawing fouls, going 4-4 at the line. Luckily the Kodiaks maintained their composure and caught their stride, finishing up the game with a score of 77-64 to go 2-0 this weekend.
