OLDS, AB - Olds College Broncos Men's Basketball is defeated by SAIT Trojans at the Home Opener for Olds College on Saturday November 13, 2021.

Olds College Broncos start off focused and score the first basket of the game on home court! SAIT keeps the score tight as possession goes back and forth in an exciting one point game through the first quarter. Broncos quickly gain a 5 point lead with two minutes left in the quarter! The first quarter finishes with a score of 24-19 and the Broncos in the lead over the Trojans. 

The SAIT Trojans up their intensity coming out for the second quarter and score the first basket off the hop. Momentum increases for the SAIT Trojans as they tie the score in the first minute and a half of the second quarter. Trojans continue on their scoring streak to take a three point lead over the Broncos two minutes into the quarter. Broncos fight to close the gap but momentum slides as give-aways and fouls end up costing them this quarter. The second quarter finishes off with a score of 48 for the Trojans to 39 for the Broncos. 

The third period gains excitement when possession continues to go back and forth between the Trojans and the Broncos. Trojans maintain their lead but the Broncos strengthen their defense intensity in the game. The quarter results in a lead for the SAIT Trojans 67-56 over the Olds College Broncos. 

Trojans come out tenacious and hungry to keep the lead in the fourth and final quarter. Olds College Broncos watch their intensity slide as the point difference continues to rise. Halfway through the final quarter the score reads 83-63 for the SAIT Trojans. Broncos just cannot seem to catch them. The final result favors the SAIT Trojans for a 90-69 score. 

The player of the game for the SAIT Trojans goes to #3 Noah Lehto & Olds College Broncos #6 Luke Baker. 

The Olds College Broncos will play next on Friday November 19 against the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings at RDP.
