Ooks fall in Saturday matinee

Ooks fall in Saturday matinee

EDMONTON, Alta. – In what was a low scoring contest in the first half, the Keyano Huskies showed their first place pedigree on the second game of back to backs to stunt any NAIT Ooks game plan and walk away from NAIT gymnasium with two wins on the weekend, including a  final of 97-77 on Saturday afternoon.

A day after letting the Ooks back into the game on Friday night, there would be no such finish on Saturday. Despite only being down by thirteen at half, compared to eighteen Friday night, the Ooks struggled on the offensive end, highlighted by ACAC leading scorer Sean-Michael Clancey only producing three points in the first half, and twenty-one overall, finishing below his season average.

Despite a strong defensive effort from the Ooks for three quarters, the Huskies found enough offense to stay ahead for most of the game and pulled away in the fourth, making a comeback on this day a difficult task for the Ooks. Despite trimming the lead to single digits at one point, the Ooks just ran out of comeback attempts.

The loss drops the Ooks to 6-4 at home on the season.
