2025 ACAC Golf Coach of the Year
Edmonton, AB (September 26, 2025) - The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Tyler Leicht of the NAIT Ooks has been named the 2025 ACAC Golf Coach of the Year.
In his time with the Ooks, Leicht has fostered a competitive and welcoming culture that student-athletes want to be part of. His commitment to detail, athlete development, and team culture has led to consistent success on the course. This marks his second ACAC Coach of the Year recognition in the last three seasons, further demonstrating his impact on the program and the conference.
Beyond his work at NAIT, Leicht has been a fixture at the Derrick Golf and Winter Club in Edmonton for nine seasons, the last five as a PGA of Canada Professional. He plays a key role in developing junior golfers through programs for ages 3–18 and regularly competes in PGA of Alberta tournaments, where he values both the competition and the camaraderie of the game. In 2024, he achieved Class “A” Professional status with the PGA of Canada.

He has built NAIT Golf into a contender every year and has developed a culture that student-athletes want to be a part of. His attention to detail makes Tyler a treat to work with, and his dedication and love of the game is felt by the entire program. NAIT Athletics would like to congratulate Tyler on winning his second ACAC Coach of the Year award in the last three seasons and wish the Ooks and the rest of the ACAC teams good luck at the upcoming CCAA Nationals,” said Jordan Richey, NAIT Athletics and Recreation Director
This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2025 ACAC Golf Championship hosted at Alberta Springs Golf Resort.
