2024-2025 ACAC Women's Overall Athlete of The Year

Edmonton, AB (April 9, 2025) –
ACAC WOMEN'S OVERALL ATHLETE OF THE YEAR, MAITLYNN MILLER:
Maitlynn Miller, of the St. Mary's Lightning Women's Basketball team, has received special recognition for her impact within her team, sport and league. Miller, a fourth-year guard, has been named the 2024-2025 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women’s Player of the Year from all 10 sports within the league.
The most decorated individual season in St Mary’s history. Maitlynn’s impact on the Lightning Women’s Basketball Team was felt in every possession, not just every game, offence or defence. Culminating in ACAC and CCAA Silver Medals - St Mary’s first ever medal on the national stage. While also competing in Cross Country and finishing in the top half of female runners.
A truly inspirational student athlete. Maitlynn leads with her heart. Passionate and stubborn, called “Mama Mait” by her teammates. Everyone in her orbit is treated with the utmost respect, while upholding them to her own high standard. Always the hardest working player on the court and in the classroom - with a 4.0 GPA throughout her Bachelor of Education Degree. Maitlynn’s major accomplishments this season include:

- CCAA All Canadian
- ACAC First Team All Conference
- ACAC Championship All-Star
- First in the ACAC in steals
- First in the ACAC in assists
- Second in the ACAC in scoring
- Second in the ACAC in rebounding

A fourth-year student from Lethbridge, Maitlynn is graduating this year with a Bachelor of Education degree.
