2024-2025 ACAC Men's Hockey Rookie of The Year

Men's Hockey Rookie of the Year | DYLAN HANDEL | Concordia Thunder:

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Dylan Handel of the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder has been selected as the 2024-2025 ACAC Men’s Hockey Rookie of the Year. 

Handel has been a force of nature in his rookie season, making an immediate impact for the Thunder. The talented forward from Beaumont, AB, recorded an impressive 38 points in the regular season. He continued his dominance in the playoffs, adding 10 points in the quarter and semifinal rounds, proving to be a key contributor to his team’s success. Known for his exceptional playmaking ability, Handel has earned the number-one spot in the ACAC in points this season. 

"Dylan has had an incredible rookie season, stepping up in key moments and proving himself as a top talent in this league," said Nate MacLellan, Concordia University of Edmonton’s Athletic Director. "His work ethic and skill set have made an immediate impact on our program, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for him." 

Off the ice, Handel is pursuing his Bachelor of Management at Concordia University of Edmonton. His dedication and skill have set the tone for what promises to be a remarkable collegiate hockey career. 

This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2025 ACAC Men’s Hockey Championship, hosted by Briercrest in Caronport, Saskatchewan.
