Highlights from the 2024 CCAA Cross-Country and Soccer Championships

Edmonton, AB (November 14, 2024) – The SAIT Trojans won the 2024 CCAA Men's Cross-Country Championship, while the NAIT Ooks and Concordia Thunder had strong showings in the 2024 CCAA Soccer Championships but fell short of podium finishes.
2024 Cross-Country Championships
The SAIT Trojans dominated the 2024 CCAA Men's Cross-Country Championship in Windsor, ON., earning the prestigious banner and four All-Canadian nods.
Nathan Woyessa led the Trojans, crossing the 8KM race first with an impressive time of 24:25. Max Thiessen placed 4th (24:52), Moktar Said took 9th (25:26), and Yahye Jama finished 10th (25:19). Congratulations to the Trojans! The Lethbridge Kodiaks placed 11th, while the Augustana Vikings and NAIT Ooks finished 15th and 16th, respectively.
On the women's side, the Red Deer Queens finished 7th, the Lethbridge Kodiaks 8th, Medicine Hat took 10th, and the NAIT Ooks finished 13th out of 15 teams.
2024 CCAA Soccer Championships
The NAIT Ooks had an exciting showing at the 2024 CCAA Men's Soccer Championship in Fredericton, NB. While the results didn't go as planned, they played hard, and the games were thrilling to watch.
Men's Results:
Quarter-final: NAIT vs Les Rouges – 1-0 win
Semi-final: NAIT vs Humber – 0-3 loss
Bronze Semi-final: NAIT vs Saint-Lambert – 3-4 loss
On the women's side, the Concordia Thunder made it just as exciting to watch, battling hard but falling short in the bronze semi-final.
Women's Results:
Quarter-final: Concordia vs MSVU – 1-0 PK win
Semi-final: Concordia vs Aigles d'Ahuntsic – 0-1 loss
Bronze Semi-final: Concordia vs VIU – 1-4 loss
Notable Achievements:
Jacob Marshall (Keyano Huskies), Peter Jones (NAIT Ooks), and Tesloach David (SAIT Trojans) were named Men's Soccer CCAA All-Canadians.
Harleen Singh (Keyano Huskies), Meagan Wiebe (SAIT Trojans), and Vanessa Pietramala (Concordia Thunder) were named Women's Soccer CCAA All-Canadians.
Emma Ward (Concordia Thunder) was recognized as a championship all-star.
Meagan Wiebe (SAIT Trojans) was honored with the 2024 CCAA Women's Soccer Player of the Year award presented by Jostens.
