2024 ACAC Women's Soccer Rookies of The Year

North Female Rookie of the Year | DAYLA ARMSTRONG | The King's Eagles:
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Dayla Armstrong of The King’s University Eagles has been selected as the 2024 ACAC Female Soccer North Rookie of the Year.
Dayla, aged 18, is a graduate of M.E Lazerte High School and grew up in the city of Edmonton. She is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce at The King’s University where she demonstrates academic and athletic excellence. She showcased herself as one of the top rookies in the league early on, as her accomplishments this season included 7 goals and 1 assist for a total of 15 points, as well as 4 game winning goals. Additionally, she earned Athlete of the Week title for the The King’s University following her performance against Lakeland College. Dayla was previously named Athlete of Year for M.E. Lazerte High School and awarded a Certificate of Excellence from Metro Athletics.
The King’s University takes great pride in Dayla Armstrong, viewing her as a shining example of hard-work, dedication and passion to academics and athletics. Her willingness to grow and adapt her game allowed her to find success in the ACAC this season. Throughout the season she proved she was going to be a threat as she regularly displayed her offensive prowess, finishing abilities and speed.
We have no doubt that Dayla will continue to impress both on and off the pitch. We are so proud of the work that Dayla has put into this season and are eager to see where she goes from here. This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2024-2025 ACAC Women’s Soccer Championship hosted by Northwest Polytechnic in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

South Female Rookie of the Year | ALEXIS RATKE | Medicine Hat Rattlers:
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Alexis Ratke of the Medicine Hat Rattlers has been selected as the 2024 ACAC Female Soccer South Rookie of the Year.
Alexis Ratke was a phenomenal student-athlete on the soccer field in the 2024 season, making her mark in the league in her very first year. Alexis finished the season as the top scorer on her team and tied for the most assists as well. As a strong offensive threat for the Rattlers, Ratke finished her first season with 23 shots on goal and six goals. A hat-trick in a 3-0 win during her fourth game secured her as the Medicine Hat College Player of the Week in early September.
Head Coach of Medicine Hat Rattlers Women’s Soccer, Joe Taylor, says, “Alexis has truly made an impact on the team this season. Her hard work and dedication are evident in every practice and game, where she showcases her dynamic dribbling skills. With an uncanny ability to maneuver past defenders, she not only creates scoring opportunities for herself but also sets up her teammates for success. Her energy and passion inspire everyone around her, making her a vital asset to our team.”
Ratke, from Lethbridge, is in her first year of General Studies.
