John Talerico named ACAC 2017-18 Women’s Soccer South Division Coach of the Year

OLDS, AB (Oct. 26, 2017) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce John Talerico of the SAIT Trojans has been named the ACAC Women's Soccer South Division Coach of the Year.

Talerico is finishing his third season as the women's soccer head coach after serving as an assistant coach for the Trojans men's team the seven years previous (as well as the women's team the final four years of that time). Following a tough first year in which he went 0-7-3 in 2015/16, Talerico led his team to a 7-3 record last year, and a 9-1 mark this season.

His first place finish in the South Division this year was the first for the Trojans women's soccer program.

"Coach Talerico has done an excellent job of turning around our women's soccer program," said SAIT's Athletics and Recreation Director, Wade Kolmel. "His knowledge and passion for the game of soccer is something he does a great job of passing on to his student-athletes. The SAIT Trojans Athletics and Recreation Department congratulate John on this well-deserved honour."

John Talerico received the award on Oct. 26, 2017 at the ACAC Women's Soccer Conference Championship Banquet held in Olds, AB.
