Peter Jones, NAIT Ooks, Men's Soccer

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
The NAIT Ooks men’s soccer team captured their second consecutive ACAC Championship title, earning a return trip to the CCAA National Championship, and team captain Peter Jones was at the heart of it all. Jones was named ACAC Championship MVP after an exceptional weekend of play and leadership.
In the quarterfinal matchup against Lethbridge, Jones played the full game and registered two shots, setting the tone early for the Ooks’ championship run. His impact was felt even more in the semifinal against the top-seeded SAIT Trojans, where he scored the equalizing goal just two minutes after NAIT went down 1-0, before assisting on the game-winner from Jameson Kiezik to seal a 2-1 victory.
In the gold-medal game, Jones was once again a driving force, taking three shots and maintaining the team’s energy and composure en route to a 1-0 win. A fourth-year student-athlete in the Business Administration program, Jones continues to exemplify leadership, resilience, and the competitive spirit of the Ooks program.
