João Cintra, Medicine Hat Rattlers, Men's Futsal
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
After the second weekend of regionals, Joao Cintra scored six more goals to help the Rattlers men's futsal team secure first place in the south for the playoffs.
Cintra entered the weekend leading the league in goals and did not disappoint after three more games. He scored against the Red Deer Kings and Olds Broncos before delivering a standout performance against the SAIT Trojans, finding the back of the net four times.
In his first season with the Rattlers, Cintra had an exceptional outdoor campaign, leading the league in goals for most of the season. Now in futsal, he continues to be a key player for the Rattlers, contributing not only six goals but also five assists over the past weekend.
Hailing from Salvador, Brazil, Cintra is in his second year in the league while pursuing his Business Diploma at Medicine Hat College.
GAME ON: A GLIMPSE AHEAD
After finishing first in the South, the Rattlers are gearing up for the playoffs. Following last year’s silver medal finish, the Rattlers men’s futsal team has their sights set on gold.
