ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Kitawna Sparks has been a standout player for the SAIT Trojans women's basketball team, showcasing her talent with remarkable performances this past weekend.

In Friday night's thrilling overtime win, Sparks posted 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 assists, playing a crucial role in securing the victory. She followed that up with an even more impressive performance on Saturday, leading the Trojans to an 80-68 win with 30 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. Her all-around effort earned her Player of the Game honors and demonstrated her ability to make an impact in every facet of the game.

The third-year athlete is having an exceptional season, averaging 14.6 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Sparks, who previously starred as the leading scorer for the Lethbridge Kodiaks, has seamlessly transitioned into a key role with the Trojans. Her strong performances reflect her dedication and skill, making her one of the top players to watch in the league. As the season progresses, Sparks continues to prove herself as a major force on the court.

Sparks is a third-year Open Studies student from Taber, AB.
