Michael Valk, Medicine Hat Rattlers, Men's Golf
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Michael Valk has added a few more titles to his impressive resume: back-to-back Men’s Individual Golf Champion, ACAC Golfer of the Year, ACAC All-Conference, ACAC Men’s Team Bronze, and ACAC Mixed Team Bronze.
The defending champion solidified his reputation as a top competitor, posting a -12 across three rounds (67, 69, 68) at the ACAC Golf Championship to secure the individual gold. His contributions also helped his teams earn bronze in both the men’s and mixed team competitions, capping off another stellar season.
With the CCAA Golf Nationals just a few weeks away, Michael has one last opportunity to secure a national gold medal. Needing just one step beyond last year’s achievement, Valk will swing his clubs in his final tournament while representing the Medicine Hat Rattlers.
Now in his second year of the Power Engineering program, the talented golfer from Medicine Hat has his eyes set firmly on the top of the podium at the national stage.
