ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Peter Jones has started the season in spectacular fashion, continuing his form as the returning ACAC Player of the Year. The third-year open studies student was a key figure in the NAIT Ooks men's soccer team's strong start to the season, helping them secure two crucial wins over the weekend.

In Friday night's 3-1 victory against The King's University, Jones delivered a standout performance, particularly in injury time when he executed a flawless pass to set up Markus Sperling for the game-sealing goal. Beyond his offensive brilliance, Jones' defensive contributions were equally impressive as he dominated the midfield and controlled the tempo of the game.

His heroics continued on Sunday when he opened the scoring with an astonishing 30-yard strike, a goal already being talked about as a potential Goal of the Year. He later added an assist, contributing to a commanding 3-0 win and leading the Ooks to a perfect six-point weekend.

Jones’ weekend performance has also tied him for second in ACAC points after the first week of action. With his relentless play on both sides of the ball, Peter Jones has once again proven why he's one of the top players in the league. His leadership and skill will be pivotal as the Ooks continue their season.
