Kickoff Time: 2025 ACAC Men’s & Women’s Soccer Season Preview

EDMONTON, AB- As our teams begin their pre-season work, we look forward to the fast approaching official start to the ACAC Men’s and Women’s soccer season. Taking place at the Comet Stadium, teams will be heading south for ACAC Championships hosted by the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks on October 24-26.

“ACAC Soccer is one of the most competitive conferences in the CCAA and the fact that Lethbridge Polytechnic gets to host both the Men’s and Women’s championships is an absolute honor!” says Todd Caughlin, LPK Athletic Director. “The level of play that will be on display in October out in Raymond should draw soccer fans from all over the province. The speed, athleticism and just pure talent that will be on the pitch for those three days will be worth watching if you are a soccer fan!”

2024 RECAP

At last year’s championships, hosted by the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves, the Concordia Thunder women’s team and the NAIT Ooks men’s team rose to the top, capturing the 2024 titles. Their victories earned them a place on the national stage—where the Thunder traveled to Squamish, BC, finishing fifth, while the Ooks competed in Fredericton, NB, also securing a fifth-place finish.

LOOKING AHEAD

The 2025 season kicks off September 5–6, with the UAA Vikings opening play against the SAIT Trojans on the women’s side, battling it out on Trojan home turf. On September 6, the men’s season gets underway as the Concordia Thunder face off against the NAIT Ooks in Ooks territory.

Come November, the CCAA Women’s Soccer Nationals will take place at the newly developed Setters Place at Great Chief Park in Red Deer Alberta, familiar territory for our ACAC teams. Meanwhile on the men’s side, the successful ACAC team will be heading to Quebec to the Champlain College Saint-Lambert, home of the Champlain Cavaliers, to take on the best teams in the country.

A new ACAC soccer season is just around the corner, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. The journey begins in September, when teams across the conference hit the pitch with one goal in mind: earning a spot at the CCAA National Championships.

Last year’s champions will be under pressure to defend their titles, while emerging contenders are ready to challenge for the spotlight. Every match promises intensity, from opening kickoff to the final whistle, as rivalries heat up and fresh talent makes its mark.

This fall, fans can look forward to gripping match-ups, standout performances, and the kind of unforgettable moments that define ACAC soccer.
