Eduardo Filho Honoured as 2021-22 Men's Soccer South Player of the Year
OCTOBER 28 – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Eduardo Filho of the SAIT Trojans has been selected as the 2021-22 ACAC South Division Men's Soccer Player of the Year.
Filho wins the award in his final year of post-secondary athletic eligibility, leading his Trojans to a 5-0-1 record to place first in the South Division. In six games this season, the midfielder finished third on his team with five points.
"Eduardo has been a leader for this team since his arrival back in the 2019-20 season. He works just as hard in practice as he does in games, and that rubs off on the other players," said Trojans head coach, Connor Brady. "Along with being one of the most skilled players I have ever coached, his knowledge of the game and ability to lead has been just as integral to our success."
This is Filho's first Player of the Year award. He was also named a CCAA All-Canadian for the first time, and an ACAC All-Conference selection for the fourth time – winning twice with SAIT and twice with Keyano College.
Filho, a product of Paracatu, Brazil, is an Environmental Technology student at SAIT.
